Job Description

  • Step into a thriving, well-established Foot & Ankle practice with high-volume referrals
  • Join a collegial, mission-driven orthopedic team in beautiful, affordable Maine
  • Enjoy a balanced schedule, loan repayment, and a lifestyle that supports real work-life balance

Step Into a Thriving Practice in the Heart of New England!

St. Mary’s Health System, located in the vibrant and affordable four-season city of Lewiston, Maine, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon with Fellowship training in Foot and Ankle surgery to join our highly respected and collaborative orthopedic team.

This is a rare opportunity to step directly into an established, well-supported practice with high-volume referrals and a strong regional reputation in Foot & Ankle care. Whether you’re mid-career or exploring a semi-retirement lifestyle, this full-time position offers professional fulfillment with a pace and setting that supports a meaningful work-life balance.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Ready-to-Go Practice: Inherit a robust patient panel from a departing Foot & Ankle surgeon—hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Semi-Retirement Friendly: Interested in winding down while still practicing at a high level? Maine’s slower pace and lower cost of living make this the perfect place to scale back without stepping away.
  • Full-Time, Hospital-Employed Position: Join a stable, mission-driven organization with deep community roots.
  • Mentorship & Collegiality: Enjoy working alongside experienced, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons in a friendly, supportive environment.
  • Balanced Schedule: Blend of OR and clinic days, offering professional variety and a predictable routine.
  • Integrated System of Care: Supported by APPs, a hospitalist team, Physiatry, PT/OT services, and EPIC EMR.
  • High Volume Referrals: Strong internal referral network ensures consistent patient flow.
