Job Description

Southern Vermont facility seeking a full-time Orthopedic Surgeon
--Day shifts: typically standard daytime OR schedule
--Rotating call schedule
--Provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients across the continuum, including evaluation, treatment, surgery, and follow-up. 
--Diagnose and evaluate orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans
--Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approaches
--Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other orthopedic interventions
--Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety, recovery, and optimal outcomes
--Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists
--Participate in rotating on-call coverage as part of a full-time orthopedic service
--Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records, including documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes
--Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans
--Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery and apply evidence-based practices to clinical decision-making
--Participate in continuing medical education, professional development activities, conferences, and workshops
--Adhere to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and hospital policies
--Proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures, including familiarity with the latest advancements.
--Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively assess and treat orthopedic conditions.
--Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
--Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
--Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying updated with emerging trends and research in orthopedic surgery.
--Annual Salary Range: $300,000 to $360,000
--Required: BC/BE Orthopedic surgery, VT license, DEA, CPR, clean malpractice
