Job Description
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston (UTHealth) is seeking a microsurgery fellowship trained plastic surgeon with a focus on ortho-plastic extremity reconstruction and microsurgery. Candidates would be considered at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at UTHealth and should be Board Certified or Board Eligible. The Division of Plastic Surgery currently employs 13 full time surgeons with both integrated and independent plastic surgery residency programs. Selected individuals are expected to remain active in the education of these trainees and are encouraged to pursue academic research.
At Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (MH-TMC) in Houston, this practice will encompass all aspects of extremity and ortho-plastic reconstruction. With the busiest level 1 trauma center in the nation, MH-TMC offers the opportunity to establish a broad clinical footprint and collaborate with the entire spectrum of providers at both UTHealth and Memorial Hermann. As the largest employer in the city of Houston, the Memorial Hermann system offered a large footprint of over 12 regional hospitals with both private and affiliated physicians to collaborate with in this program. Opportunity for regional growth at other Memorial Hermann locations is available as the practice expands.
