About the Department
The Department of Surgery is a large, dynamic department which includes General surgery/Trauma, Otolaryngology/Head and Neck, Neurosurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Ophthalmology, Cardiac (thoracic/vascular), and Podiatric surgery.
About the Position
We are seeking a Trauma Medical Director for a Level 2 Trauma Center at Regional Medical Center, an SCVH hospital (starting April 1, 2025). Applicants must be board certified in General Surgery and have several years of trauma experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center. Fellowship training in Trauma/Critical Care is preferred but not required. Prior administrative experience within Trauma or Quality is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive ability to provide surgical evaluation and management of critically ill patients in trauma and emergency general surgery. In addition, the candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary trauma team and our advanced practice providers. Clinical opportunities in elective General Surgery may be available based on the clinical expertise and interest of the candidate. The candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid California medical license.
