Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic RCM and Reporting Leadership
? Establish Enterprise Standards: Develop, document, and implement the definitive
RCM workflow and SOPs for all current and future practices, using the Gold
Standard Urology prototype as the benchmark.
? NextGen Expertise: Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) on
NextGen PM/EHR, optimizing system configuration to ensure maximum revenue
capture and data integrity.
? Credentialing & Contracting: Oversee and manage all provider credentialing,
payer contracting, and renegotiations to ensure favorable terms and minimal
lapse in coverage.
2. Advanced Performance Reporting & Analysis
Leverage NextGen reporting tools to generate and analyze a structured, multi-
dimensional view of practice performance, focusing on the following critical report
categories:
? Pre-Service Reports (Scheduling & Front Office): Monitor patient volume,
data quality (e.g., insurance eligibility), and point-of-service collections to
maximize clean claim rates.
? Examples: Appointment Volume/Trend, No-Show Rate, Referral Tracking,
Insurance Eligibility Verification Rate.
? Service Reports (Clinical & Charge Capture): Ensure the work performed by
providers is accurately and fully captured as billable charges (preventing
"revenue leakage").
? Examples: Provider Productivity (by RVU), Total Charges Posted, and
management of Unbilled Encounters (a critical focus).
? Post-Service Reports (Accounts Receivable & Aging): Track the practice’s
overall financial health, collection risk, and cash flow.
? Examples: Comprehensive AR Aging Analysis (by Payer and Patient),
Days in AR, and change in AR trends.
? Follow-Up Reports (Payment & Collections): Measure the effectiveness of the
billing team's collection efforts, focusing on denial management and final
reimbursement.
? Examples: Net Collection Rate, Denial Rate (broken down by reason),
Adjustment/Refund Analysis.
? System Audit Reports (Integrity & Compliance): Monitor backend health, data
security, contractual adherence, and user activity logs to prevent internal errors,
ensure compliance, and check if payers are paying according to contract.
3. Operational Management & Leadership
? Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and motivate a dedicated team of
administrative and clinical staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and
professional work environment.
? Compliance: Ensure the practice adheres to all federal, state, and local
healthcare regulations (including HIPAA), policies, and procedures.
? Training: Develop and deliver ongoing training and support to staff on RCM
workflows, NextGen proficiency, and best practices.
? Patient Experience: Develop and implement strategies to track and enhance
patient engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
Required Qualifications
? Experience: Proven experience (5+ years preferred) as a Practice Manager,
Practice Administrator, or RCM Director in a healthcare setting. Urology or
specialty medical experience is highly preferred.
? NextGen Mastery (MANDATORY): Extensive, demonstrated, and expert-level
experience utilizing NextGen PM and NextGen Analytics/Reporting to drive
financial and operational decisions.
? RCM Expertise: Deep, verifiable knowledge of the entire Revenue Cycle
Management process, from patient scheduling through final payment and
collections/denials.
? Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business
Management, or a related field.
? Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Exceptional
ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable operational
improvements.
? Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of claims denials and appeals
processes, payer contracting, and medical compliance standards.
