Riverside Health Medical Group is seeking a full-time, board-certified physician to join our Advanced Outpatient Wound Care Clinic team at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Practice Opportunity: Newport News (Outpatient)
- Demonstrated clinical experience in wound care management, including chronic and complex wounds.
- Prior experience practicing in an outpatient wound care center strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience supervising or providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Leadership or medical director experience in a wound care or hyperbaric program preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based wound care
- Familiarity with regulatory and documentation requirements for wound care and HBOT
- Must be BC/BE in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) certification required - ACLS certification required
- Unable to sponsor any visa providers
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care for patients with acute and chronic wounds
- Serve as the attending physician for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) patients
- Perform and oversee wound assessments, debridement procedures, biopsies, and advanced wound therapies
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized wound care and HBOT treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines
- Manage medical complications related to wound healing and hyperbaric therapy
- Hyperbaric Medicine Oversight
- Provide medical oversight of hyperbaric chambers, including daily supervision of treatments and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure compliance with DNV, and institutional standards for hyperbaric medicine.
- Participate in hyperbaric safety committee activities and serve as a clinical resource for HBO-related issues.
- Review and approve HBO indications, documentation, and treatment continuation.
- Serve as physician-in-charge for the outpatient wound care clinic, collaborating with nursing, podiatry, vascular surgery, infectious disease, and other specialties.
